Do you ever have the days where sometimes your ring falls off your finger and other days it is a chore just to get it over your knuckle? You are not going crazy; this is completely normal. Here are some things that may factor if your ring seems too small or too big:
Temperature
Is it hot outside? Usually, in warmer climates your fingers tend to swell, making it harder to get your ring on. Whenever you go somewhere warm on vacation it can be impossible to get your rings on, when it is just the temperature making it difficult for you.
If it is cold outside, our fingers tend to shrink to keep your core warm by constricting your blood vessels, hence making your fingers smaller.
Diet
When you load up on the salty and/or sweet foods, this will cause you to bloat, possibly making it harder for you to put your ring on. So, what you put in your body every day (or just one night) will affect how your ring will fit the next morning.
Similar to if you are trying to slim down for the wedding, this could affect how your ring will fit.
Medication
Depending on the type of medication you are on, it can play a role with your weight causing you to bloat or lose weight. This again can play into how your beautiful ring slides onto your finger.
Pregnancy
While everyone knows it is common for women to gain weight being pregnant, sometimes it can take a bit to get back to the weight they want to be at after giving birth. Some women come in wanting their ring resized while they are pregnant and then after birth want it resized to a smaller size. We understand wanting to always wear your ring, but the constant change on the ring can make it weaker every time you resize it. We suggest you enjoy the miraculous process your body is going through and not be concerned about wearing your ring. If you feel you must have your ring on, opt for putting it on a simple chain so it’s always with you.
With all these different variables, instead of worrying, we recommend waiting a month or two to see how the ring will fit. Some days are colder than others and other days you may load up on junk food (totally normal). If you have any other questions about your ring size, message us today, we would be happy to help!
